Awesome game, been playing it for nearly 3 months online, i really like how different people play the game (how they use there troops etc.) and i like trying to adapt to your opponents strategy, this to me is why i've played the game for so long, bear in mind that most games last about a week after i've bought them.
If you have'nt played this game and are a strategy game fan, buy it! action packed and full of fun :D
Anyone here play DOW? if so what is your online name?
I only played the single player and the campaigns, since I know that I would get my ass kicked online.
I liked both DoW and its expansion. I thought it was cool that Citadel would make the table-top game into an actual computer game. Even though I'm a bit dissapointed since they didn't include all the races and units (tyranids, grey knights, etc).

i was never a fan of the table top version, never appealed to me, i came accross this game via mates.
You should give the online mode a try, everyone gets destroyed at first but after a few games you will see improvement.
also rumour has it that relic are bringing out a new DOW expansion with the Tau as a selectable race :P

I love the game and honestly I think it's the best RTS on the market ( even above Starcraft ) because it concentrates on the war aspect of the game moreso then the micromanaging of the base aspect.
My online tag is Egnar but I'm hardly online because the game is so vastly underrated that few people even have it, the servers usually have only like 100 people on and it's hard to get a game going. I usually just stick to playing LAN with 3-4 friends.
I play as Eldar, though I play Space Wolf on table top, and I really enjoy the play style. While hard to learn once you have the grasp you can easily take out most if not all of your opponents.
And relic is releasing another expansion, races are not confirmed but theirs supposed to be 2 new ones.
The game is pretty cool, I'm a fan of the tabletop game though. I've only played DoW a few times. I thought it was good, it's kind of the same as every other RTS but different in some respects.
I usually play Space Marines :(, only for the lack of a Black Templars army.

How is it the same as every other RTS?
Most RTS cling to the age old theory that gamers love to sit in their base and ignore the battle while building new units and new buildings. Dawn of War makes building easy and even allows ques after you reach cap so you don't have to worry about that. Then it takes the entire game back to the battle field with special weapons and fast/easy ways to reinforce your squads.
Maybe I made my point unclear, I meant the thing on a whole, its style.. Like.. the layout of the screen, the maps the way it is physically played with its right-click-movement etc.
It is different in lots of respects, for example its camera angles and how it can zoom in etc.

Dawn Of War is amazing a bit easy on the campaign missions but it is set in the Warhammer 40K universe which looks stunning, I love the way you can zoom into the fight scenes and watch in amusement as a dreadnought picks up an ork with its power fist and spins it around LOL :D
I reckon they should bring out lots of expansions like the codex for the different armies, they have done already with Winter Assault which puts the Imperial in play. I would love to see Daemon Hunters and Tau.
I used to collect the minatures Space Wolves and Eldars.

I was always a space wolves player myself.
What I would like to see in a 3rd expansion ( as the 2nd is already being developed ) is that every chapter already in the game be given a unique unit. So the space wolves would have all the space marines stuff and maybe also have the wolf lord and the world eaters would maybe have the demon prince or something. It would definatly add to the games diversity.

Well, every race already has a race specific character. I mean every chapter ( Space Wolves, World Eaters, Etc. . .).
