I can't be the only one to have played it.

What can I say? Beautiful looking cel-shading, stylish gameplay with a big dose of fun. And for an adventure game it has a fair bit of replay value, rainbow V ranks are tough to get yet still possible. However, on the harder difficulty modes it does require levels of godliness I can't quite muster...

I've had the first one for ages, but only managed to play through it one and a half times. It's probably because I never took the time to practice some proper combos, but I just found it incredibly repetitive, and more frustrating than entertaining. It deserves many points for originality and a new concept well executed, but as far as fun factor goes I never understood what was so special about it.

I'm currently working on getting a rainbow V on every single level on the first game, which is sadly the only one I've played, though I've played it extensively. It's probably the best throwback to old school games that's been done decently. I've played the tight spandex pants off of that game, having beaten it on every difficulty level with every character. Definitely one of the most challenging, but ultimately rewarding games I've played. The music isn't half bad either.

I haven't played one of the games yet, but I'm interested in trying it. The game looks beautiful and seems to have solid gameplay.

Which one would you recommend to start with and does it matter if it's not the first game of the series?

They're okay games, enjoyable but can get repetitive at some times. Having Silvia and Joe in the 2nd was good but i just used Joe most of the time unless Silvia was needed.

Not completed either yet though, Fire Leo just got on my nerves so much i gave up and i just haven't been on the 2nd for a while now (on that ice level) I might get that fighting one on the Gamecube if it gets any good reviews and i'm sorta thinking about the DS one, but that'll be the same as the fighting one.
