why isn't there a gadget/tech forum other than in the computer helpdesk? wouldn't it be useful? just a suggestion :)

Because people who attempt to fix other mechanical and technical things are a minority here at FFI. Most of our technological knowledge when it comes to repair and maintenance revolves around computers.

You can just use the Insider Cafe for that. If we go making subforums for every subject under the sun then that section will become even more dead than it is already.

I doubt such a forum would as there is constantly so much to talk about and a lot of people from this forum are techies :).

if you post in the cafe however it would make it more cluttered and you probably wont get the right responses. just a suggestion though

The Cafe has about four active threads; there's no danger of clutter. Its purpose is to be a home for topics that don't fit in the other sections, so I don't see why gadget-related threads wouldn't do fine there. Why don't you try one?

It'd make more sense to just change the description of Website Galaxy to include all thing techy, computer-related or gadgety. That's where I'd put them at least.

We could add a Technology sub-forum maybe? It could encompass gadgets and phones and whatnot but I'm not sure that it'd get used. Just post them in the Cafe for now. We can always move the threads later if anything gets done about this.

I think you'd be better off putting it somewhere under the Entertainmentsection, seeing as stuff such as the Web Dsegin are under Creativity- people just arent going to look there for it, I wouldnt think.

I'm in favor of a "Techno Zone" subforum where you could discuss about gadgets and computer stuff. I've always looked for such a forum and the "Insider Cafe" didn't seem too inviting for that kind of thread.
