I decided that I might make a FF web with the help of others. I' haven't decided if I should either make it on Proboards or Invision. Please help me come up with ideas for the website and mod spots will be available.

Hey auronmaster why didn't you say anything? I'm in the process of making a FF site too.

Meh, I'd pick invisionfree, that is a easy way to make a forum.

if you have a host with php and mysql I would go with phpBB2 (alothough its a bitch to mod) and I have heard good things about FUDFourms but not sure how good they accually are

vBulletin will always be the best out of everything. But if you want to learn about layouts and things, invision would be your best bet.

vBulletin all the way, but if you're stupid then I'd recoomennd (<---like that?) invision or phpbb or something stupid like that

Invisionfree. Definitely. It's fairly easy and not as crappy as Proboards.
I say use neither.
If you want to make a forum that's fine, but for the love of god don't make a Final Fantasy forum. There are more crap FF forums on proboards and Invision than there are good forums using a better forum system.
Don't waste your time making one because unless you can end up providing great content or at least great members then your site will die quickly. Save your time and effort on a subject which deserves a new forum because a lot of people think they'll make the next greatest FF site and they fail badly.
SB stated a correct point there... the competition in this field is just too fierce.
Anyways, I will personally go with vBulletin (if you have the cash). For free board, it will be either Invision Board (not invisionfree...) or SMF. phpBB is just too buggy and has lots of security holes.

SB and Rey have a good point but every site including FFI had to start from somewhere. We have all seen the rise and fall of FF sites. I'd say if you have determination then do it. But if you are gonna get lazy and refuse to put in the hours it is a waste of time.
