Doctragety
03-23-2006, 09:40 PM
Name: Martin Alacaster Grey (commonly known as priest Doc tragedy)

Age: Unknown, but his physical features betray him for being in his thirties.

Gender: Male

Race: Human.

Build: While Doc isn’t the strongest looking man alive, his physique is well kept for, toned muscles visible, though not bulging from beneath his flesh. His height is of an average man, standing from toe to head at five foot, ten inches tall.
Hair: Doc is well known for the shoulder length, almost glowing white hair atop his brow.

Eyes: His eyes are easily described as beaming, kind green orbs that are hard to look down from while speaking with him.
Distinctive features: Upon his soft facial features is a well kept beard, trimmed short and not passing his chin; its color is the same glowing white of his hair.

Clothes: Doc’s body is covered in a white robe laced with gold trim, long collared, extending down to his sandaled covered feet. About his waist is tied a golden rope sash, lengthy tassels draped down past the knot. Upon his head sits a golden, almost white colored hood that drapes no further than his brow.

Weapon(s): Doc carries with him but one weapon, the ancient staff of his tutor, Archbishop Benedictus. The staff, crafted from the branch of the ancient guardian of the forest, is deep in rosewood coloration and emits a rather strong aura of Devine energy at its triangular shaped head. The glow is visible, and seems to welcome goodness to it, and ward away evil.

Abilities: Doc, as his name suggests, is a devout healer skilled in mending physical, and spiritual wounds. It is also rumored that Doc is granted the divine power of bringing the dead back from the brink of the afterlife.

Striking - Attack using the staff as a weapon, inflicting moderate holy damage, as well as wounds inflicted upon hit.

Flash Heal – Repairs physical damage taken by any being to the point of eighty percent of their life. Is draining, and excessive use may cause the caster to lose consciousness.

Devine Healing – Repairs damage taken by a beings very soul, such as corruption. Causes the caster’s own soul to take the front of the damage and can potentially cause spiritual consumption.

Resurrection – Allows the caster to bring a fallen being back to the realm of the living. Is extremely draining, and may kill the caster. Can only be done safely every half hour.

Spiritual strike – After a five second charge, allows the caster to inflict Holy damage to an adversary. Attack strength relies on the amount of divine energy the caster possesses and is considered extraordinarily powerful against creatures of the nether. Is draining, and excessive use can cause the caster to lose consciousness.

Devine Shield – Allows the caster to create a shield of Holy energy, making him nearly immune to shadow damage for thirty seconds. After the allotted time, the caster may feel weak and will most likely have to rest for a few minutes.

Holy Nova – A powerful attack of Divine energy that is extremely difficult to dispel. In most cases, will ward off all evil, and protect allies for twenty-four hours. Caster must have an undisturbed time of five minutes to gather the necessary energy to cast this attack. It also has a seventy percent chance of pulling the caster’s soul from his body, possibly causing the caster to permanently lose his soul.

Arching power of the Archbishop – A last effort to destroy evil, the caster is infused with the spirit of Archbishop Benedictus, and Devine energy fills the battle ground. All Holy based attacks are increased one-hundred fold, as well are any abilities to heal. Allies will also experience an increased strength for the duration of use. Unfortunately, the caster’s spirit at the last of his strength will be taken from his body, and only if the world still needs the fallen, the caster will die. Can not be summoned unless allies have met their end, or the caster is near death.

Other abilities/attributes: As a priest, Doc has the unusual ability to see the very spirit dwelling within any being. Using this, he can communicate to the spirits of others, humanoid or not. This also gives him the ability to possibly soothe enemies that may try to attack, or gain allies in the wild creatures of the planet.

Personality: Doc gives an impression of light hearted, easy going merriment. He’s rarely seen angry unless fighting forces opposed to the Lord. Intelligence is seen past his glowing eyes; ancient wisdom seems to pool within him. Doc is never heard of without giving aid to those who ask, and is always a gentleman. He, however, is very hard to read if one wishes to delve into his mind, so most take him for what he is, and that is all he truly has to give.

Background: In the early days of childhood, Martin was your typical Todd, mischief and discovery filling his mind with interest. He also, however, had a strong passion for the work of Archbishop Benedictus, a man who devoted his life to saving those who were lost. At the age of six, Martin was taken as a pupil under Benedictus; his studies tedious, though enjoyable, he worked at vigorously. In just two years he found himself a full time assistant to the Archbishop and, on occasion, was allotted to preach to the townspeople. As time went on, Martin was instated as a priest in the Church, the youngest ever known at only age fourteen.
Yet life would soon become hard as the forces of the nether made themselves noticed in the land. They raped, pillaged, plundered, and murdered hundreds of innocent lives before their tyranny came to the town in which Martin resided.
Benedictus, at the time the demons broke into his hometown, had seen and felt enough suffering. Divine power so powerful it shook the heavens was unleashed upon them, and in the beat of a heart and the anger in a voice, thousands of demons were slain. Yet the evil pressed harder. The Archbishop had laid slain more than millions of demons by the time they reached him, and even then he fought, never alone. Martin too held fierce battle with the forces of the nether, and together, hand in hand, he and his mentor continued to defend their town.
It wasn’t long after that the Archbishop knew they could not stand this much longer, and his young pupil would surly die that day. A prayer was whispered, but heard all across the land as a booming thunder. The Divine spirit felt that day was so strong that the nether world forces across that land fell slain, cast back to burn in the lake of fire for all eternity.
The good Archbishop too, died that day. He called on the force of his entire spirit to destroy the evil, and protect the innocent. Martin felt devastated at the loss of such an important influence in his life, but a spirit called within him that told him that Benedictus was alive in well in the Holy realm of the afterlife. Smiling as he was told to take the ancient staff of his tutor, Martin was named Archbishop of the small town. He declined saying that Benedictus was not dead, just somewhere he could care for everyone. Simple folk obviously did not understand, but that mattered not to him.
As time passed, Martin made a name for himself as a healer, many coming to the light, and the sick made well. But the tragic losses in his life were not forgotten, and thus is name was made, Doc tragedy.
