Im sure members have at least heard of Naoko Takeuchi's classic manga/anime Sailor Moon. If not, where have you been?! Its been known as a Magical Girl anime, like Cardcaptors, Tokyo Mew Mew, etc.

The manga was first released in 1992 and ran for 18 volumes (which Ive just bought!!) and lead to a spin off called "Sailor V", following Sailor Venus's adventures before she joined the Sailor Scouts. (which I also have!!)

Sailor V was also a popular video game character in the anime. The anime too appeared in 1992 and has 200 episodes (which I have!!) and also had 3 Sailor Moon movies to accompany it. (you know I have these!)

The lead female lead in the SM stories is 14 year old Usagi Tsukino, but she is 16 when the storyline ends. Shes your typical 14 year old girl, she has many friends, attends high school, is obesed with romance, wants to have her dream guy and become famous. So one day, she rescues a black cat called Luna, who tells Usagi she is a Moon Warrior, sent to Earth to help locate Queen Serenity. Along her journey, she enlists the help of the other Sailor Scouts, Sailor Mars, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter (she meets Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto in the other series).

Usagi has her 'arch nemesis', a tall dark handsome bully called Mamoru Chiba, who enjoys bullying her. And we meet Tuxedo Mask, a mysterious tall dark handsome stranger who appears to help SM when she needs assistance ... havent I seen him somewhere before? Each episode they encounter Queen Beryl's goons and have to save the day of course. In the second series, Alan and Ann become the enemies, I dont much on them only the fact that they are evil and want energy for their energy tree. Think that was it, its been so long.

It really is an amazing series and as far as I know is no longer being broadcast. I use to watch it on Fox Kids some years ago. A wonderful girl romance manga/anime, that Im sure hot blooded male can get into also. Come on, sailor suits on girls are hot.

This series is my not-so-secret love. I started watching it when I was twelve. Now seventeen, and I still watch it occasionally. I used to collect the manga, but the prices have shot up since it went out of print :(

Also finished watching the live action version. It's erm...very...camp.

Sailor Galaxia is awesome k plz  And I know someone on youtube who is hosting the Classic Season, R and a few episodes of S. Shall I PM you with the link?

It's so campy and awful that I like it. It was always my favourite anime next to the Tenchi Muyo serieses back when I was younger.

Tuxedo Mask is fuckin' gangsta.

I love Sailor Moon. I've been a fan of the series for what seems like forever .I first started watching the dubbed version on Toonami, however I feel that the original Japanese version is much more indepth. I think this series is so creative and I love how Naoko incorporated mythology in it.

My favorite character would have to be Minako. I think she is uber cute and very funny. But I can't say I have a least favorite. All the Sailor Senshi kick butt. ^_^

All I can say is that Sailor Moon was my first favorite anime and I think it will always be my favorite. No other anime I've watched gave me the same effect as Sailor Moon did.

It was my first anime, and I remember watching it everyday on a canadian channel we got on our TV at the time. I had to be about 11 or 12 when I started. I absolutely loved the later episodes, especially when Chibi became evil :D She looked hot :D

I forgot to mention, I LOVED Sailor Pluto, Jupiter and Chibimoon.

Sailor Moon was my VERY FIRST ANIME. Oh yeah. brings back memories. I'd rush home after school around 2:45 just in time to watch the 3PM show. Tis wonderful.

Sailor Venus (Minako) was my favorite out of the scouts. She was a natural leader when Usagi was ill during season 3. She sacraficed love in order to save the moon kingdom from Queen Beryl, and she sacraficed love again when she was on earth by a human guy (typically her classmate) in order to save his ass from Beryl's monsters. In general, that's why she's the sailor of love.

Wow, a thread in this forum that I have decided to post in.

keeping on topic...
I used to watch this...I liked it alot *blushes furiously*...I can't remember it that well, last time I watched it was when I was about 11...Aww I miss it loads, I feel all nostalgic now.
I can't remember it much though, unfortuneately. I can remeber liking it, though. Definitely would have my children watch this.

Dammit... I'll never get to read the manga version, which usually turns out to be better then the anime... :(
Maybe one day... but for now, I can barely find vol. 1 and when I do... it's like a dip in the deep end of zeh wallet.... did that make sense?

Oh well... I love Sailor Moon and grew up watching the dubbed version... still love it but I don't think any channels show it...

I went on Amazon and some cheeky fuck wanted £45 for the first manga novel?!! As bloody if jerk! You should try Ebay. I emailed a girl who was selling the first 6 novels if I could pay £8 including p&p cause they were used, she never repiled and the items gone even though it had 4 days left ... So I was upset and annoyed cause they are really hard to get in the UK, I have 4 random novels from different series and I couldnt find the others.

However, there is a guy called classical muse on Ebay who sells manga on computer disks so you read the manga on your PC. He was selling all 18 SM novels, plus the first 3 novels of the new Sailor V series, which was never released in the UK. WOOT! I only paid 41p cause I had £3.50 in my Ebay account already and they should be here tommorow hopefully.

Sailor Mooooon! I miss this so much. :( I remember downloading all of the subtitled SMS-SMSStars series on a 56k modem. That was crazy obsession. xD

And I made a webpage, too. o_O Yeah, I was crazy. I collected sooo many images and stuff, and that's how I started getting interested in graphic and web design. SM has a special place in my heart. <3 One day I will work on my website again... my goal is to make an illustrated episode guide for the SailorStars series. (I did like 2 eps and stopped.)

Of course Minako is my fave. :o Ai no senshi! I also like Usagi... and the two of them together is just fun!

I watched the dubs, and I love them even though the subs are always better. I just detest the name "scouts". They're not scouts in any way. -_-

I popped an old dub tape in the VCR a few weeks ago and watched an episode or two. Loved it! :D

Gotta buy the DVDs sometime..

Wow. Sailor Moon. :] Practically every kid went through that phase (or the alternative, DBZ). I loved Sailor Moon - even joined the fanclub. xD; I just found Usagi's dubbed voice utterly annoying. Other than that, it was magical girl anime awesome-ness. I recall worshipping Makoto cause she was a tough wonk who could cook (gawd, her sushi lunch).

Awhile back, I watched several episodes of the live-action too. They did a surprisingly good job on their transformations and costumes! ^^; But it resembled Power Rangers entirely too much.

I've grown out of it, but I still occasionally find myself doodling my own Sailor Moon outfits around homework and notes. :)

I thought her name was Serena? Which we later find out her real name is princess Serenity. Then her daughter Renee goes to her from the future, where Serena was called Queen Serenity of crystal Tokyo. I used to watch it on Fox kids (now known of Jetix) along with Escaflowne. They never showed all the series in the UK w****rs . What happend to good anime in the UK? They used to show good anime on the Sci-fi channel as well, but now it just crappy stuff. I wish sky, NTL or whoever makes the channels would make a decent anime channel.
When I looked on an online shopping thing, the only anime they had was Yugi’oh!!! Yes it was good but then when the same episodes got played over and over it got boring. I wrote a letter to them about it and now I waiting for the reply.

I heard she is better in the Japanese version. I know someone who is a complete Sailor moon fan. She has all the series in Japanese, wallpapers on her computer and loads of memorabilia. My boyfriend managed to get a few Sailor moon games for his snes, game gear and mega drive emulators, which he has on his computer. They are all in Japanese so we have to guess what they are saying.

I haven't seen Inyusha but, I know a online comic that has: http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=191

She is by far much better. Serena sounds too cry babyish, Usagi can be childish, yet serious. Even Luna sounds better in the Japanese version, she sounded like an old woman in the dubbed version. She sounds younger in the original. I too have all the series and movies in Japanese, got some dolls, books, posters and an old SNES game also. Ive just won the Sailor Scouts guide on Ebay for £11.50. They are very rare to come by now.

In my opion she sound like a winey bitch in the dubbed version, but thats just me. I wish I had the japenese version over here.
I watched FFVII Advent children in Japanese last night... the translation is a bit werid as, but it sounded and looked more natral.
I red in this mag called Neo, that they did relise salior moon over here on dvd but it didn't sell??? I don't remeber seeing it in any shops... I seen other things like: Escaflowne, Bubble gum crisis and stuff like that.
In the uk we don't get enough or alot of good anime in the shops. Its not fair

I bought my dubbed SM collection from HMV. I dont know if they still stock it. But places like Virign, Music Zone, Forbidden Planet and Travelling Man stock anime DVDs. Its slowly becoming more popular here, even Waterstones have started to sell manga now.
