Okay! I've been searching and searching, but I can't get the info I require. That's why I'm here.... someone has got to know!
In the series Outlaw Star, there are 20 different kinds of caster shells, so please, someone, for the love of all that is good and peachie, PLEASE tell me what all 20 types are called.
I've found only a handful of sites with actual details on the caster shells, and even then, most of those people have no idea what the hell they're talking about.
Anyone, please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Much appreciated,
~Zircy

i appreciate the gesture, but i already found that one. the individual came up with that as a basis for an outlaw star rpg. the origional offical site for the series had a Full list, but unfortunatly, it's not there anymore.... At any rate, yeah... that's not the real thing.... thanx tho.

i'd like to also point out, to those who watched the series from start 2 finish, the three caster shells used in the last 2 episodes don't look anything like the descriptions given on the above list. any of those sound remotely close to a caster shell that fires out what appears to almost be a black hole? i think my point stands solid.
all it took was one person to take their speculation on what all 20 caster shells did, and now it's claimed as fact, when all us rather big fans of the series know that that list doesn't reall sink up with what we know and saw.

I think I may see what you mean. It may be of interest to you that Episode 23, The Hot Springs of Planet Tenrei, was banned from the Cartoon Network airings due to its fanservicey nature of the episode (i.e., partial frontal nudity and sex-related humor). However, it has been shown on UK channel CNX, and later on the British and Spanish versions of Toonami, completely uncensored. It is also currently available on DVD and VHS (although the VHS version is now out of print and can only be bought through a seller). Cartoon Network claimed that it was irrelevant to the plot, though some argue that it plays a key role in later episodes since it explains the source of the four unique caster shells that Gene uses in the last two episodes and their life-draining side effect.

So theoretically, there are actually more then the origional 20 types of caster shells, its just you were not made aware of them earlier in previous episodes due to controversy.

Hope this helps.

thanx for the imput fox, the hotsprings episode was surpringly important, it still bugs me that C.N. didn't air it.... they just skip ahead and gene magically has more shells....ug! i got the first season on dvd. heh heh.
at any rate, if i were able to get ahold of outlaw star, season 2, i'm sure they reveal not only all 20 shells, but possibly more... who's to know though? it's hard to get ahold of... i saw it once for sale at a suncoast(dvd store), but i didn't get paid for another 3 days... i went back as soon as i got paid and it was gone... and now they cant even order it for me....
but yeah, just by glancing at the list, im sure you of all people can see that something about it doesn't seem right; and if you are in fact as big a fan as you portray, you'll notice that the descriptions on some don't sound even remotely close to the shells depicted in the 1st season.
