Characters

I have been reading about FFXII but I have not heard much about the Characters. I know about Vaan and Ashe and there is a girl whose name starts with a V that Vaan is supposed to be going out with. Other than that I do not know how many playable Characters there will be or their names. Can someone fill me in about the characters?

Panelo is the girl that Vaan is with at the beginning

there's Basch (the guard), Balflair (the pirate) and Fran ( balflair's partner aka the rabbit girl ) too :)

What races are all these characters? Vaan and Ashe are the only Humans right?

Vaan, Ashe, Penelo, Basch and Balthier are all humes. Only Fran is is a non-hume but a viera. Those are the 6 playable characters in the game. But we do get a guest character here and there.

Humes are what humans are called in the world of Ivalice. Fran, a viera is a humanoid creature with ears that resembles those of bunnies. Other races that coexist in Ivalice are the moogles, baanga and seeq.

I guess I will just wait for the game to get aquainted with all those. I hope the Moogles have a big role in the game. I miss them. I hope Mog will make a Cameo. It woud be great is he can be playable for a bit.

The moogle teleport system is really handy though. And that moogle in the Clan likes to give me stuff after mod hunts >:D

It seems like you have played before. How big is the world of FFXII? Compared to other FF games.

Frickin' huge, that's what I'll say.

FFX was kinda linear in a sense. Because this time, you can freely go anywhere, almost like an MMORPG. Plus there's no fixed camera angles, so to me it seems really big. If you've played FFXI and thought traveling was a bitch, this is similar to that on a smaller scale.

Well I am glad to hear it. I hated how small FFX was. Speaking of the MMORPG like quality. When you come up to a town will it still be like you are coming up to a miniature model of the town then you come to a new screen for the town or will it be like you are realling coming up on a town?

Hmmm what do I think? Well I think I am in love. Seriously though, I think I am going to love this game. Everything I have heard sounds like an improvement from older FFs. With the exception of the missing romance, but I may not even miss it once I get into the game.

Not really, but the world of Ivalice is truly big now. I love it, it really feels like a living breathing world.

How you think that Fran doesn't look like a rabbit is beyond me. And remember, she can think the character can look like a rabbit if she wants. Sorry to tell you.
