Are there any skateboarders on this forum. If there is i'd love to here from you guys.

Where I live there is nothing to skate. The odd one or two ramps and crap ledges but its nothing really. Ive been to a park Burnley near Manchester. That was brilliant. Just like off a game or something.

Lemme know if anyone is interested in skating and get back to me:)

Where I live there is no where to skate. I live in the woods with dirt roads and the nearest place is a basketball court that is about 30min drive away. What sucks is I moved from a city that had about 5 great skateparks.

I started skateboarding a month ago....I know the basics of skating...no tricks....sadly. But I love skateboarding because...I dunno...Just an awsome vibe, I guess.

That's entirely your opinion and I bet a whole slew of people would be happy to argue that.

I used to skate a little bit, but was never great. I was always at beginner status. I got a few stalls down alright (axel, 5-0, rock-fakie, nose/tail stall,50-50 grind) but I could never get anything else besides a couple flatlands. I got the casper flip OK and that thing where the board is on its side. Forgot what that one's called.

I started skating a few years ago. I've gotten pretty good since then, but like others, there is nothing good to skate here. I usually go to people's houses that have rails and stuff if i feel like skating.

I used to skate like 4-5 years ago. I was ok, my fave trick were 360 flips. The biggest set of stairs i ollied was an 8 and I backside 180ed a 6.

The only time i quit is when i break my board, which has only happened twice. I've only been injured twice too. Once a fractured wrist from a board slide, and second time, don't ask how, i got knocked out for a few minutes doing a primo. Not sure if that counts as an injury though...

I used to stop when I broke my board but now I have about 2 back up enjoies and 3 back up almosts so I never really bother worrying if my board breaks. But when people just quit for np reason thats dumb. If you're gonna quit after 3 years then why bother starting.

I had stopped skating when I was 13. And a few months back I had started up again and bought a new board and such. I've gotten back into the groove of finally being able to land my heelflip, ollie and manual...but other than that I'm pretty shit. I practise constantly everyday though.

my band mate skates as well, he's almost pro at it.

I live right by a lake, lakeshore is the place to go. Except our city can afford skate stops which they ram on any rail they see.

its not about them being good to grind on. would you grind on your own car? if not then you shouldn't be grinding on other ppls cars. When i used to skate we used to respect ppls property.

I see....the goody goody skater of course. Well, skating is about going against the rules and having fun!...Not being strict about crap like that...unless you were caught skating against the rules, though.

Serpentine
08-20-2006, 07:38 PM
I would grind my car not someone elses though. Maybe my moms car but skating is about going against the rules a bit. I mean I don't go around and destroy property but I do skate in no skate zones.

Crono0801

Its not about being a goody goody skater its pretty much common sense, i mean you don't skate on ppls cars. Ledges and everything else is fair game.

Skating isn't about going against the rules. It's about landing tricks and looking cool while you do it.

Serpentine
08-21-2006, 01:31 PM
Ok I said that wrong it's kinda like sometimes you need to go against the rules if you wanna skate, at least where I live anyway. There are so many places to skate where it's illegal and if I didn't go against the rules and skated only where I was allowed then I'd be stuck skating on a dirt road all day which is no fun at all. Also if I didn't break the rules a bit then I wouldn't be as good as I am now.

EDIT: Also it's more about having fun skating not landing tricks. You can land all the tricks you want and if your not having fun then what's the point to keep skating.

Amen. I've had to skate a lot of times in no skate zones too, although its not really breaking the law that much. I've seen cops drive by me many times and never say shit about me skating in a no skate zone, though they have yelled at me for skating in a non-skate zone, he just made himself look like an ass though.

And as far as ledges go, a lot of people skate these ledges by my school, and the school actually put grind blockers on them. How messed up is that?

ok enough with arguing about whats right and whats wrong. It seems like we got some ppl in here that are pretty good. name some tricks you guys can do

Serpentine
08-22-2006, 01:57 PM
Well my tricks I can do most consistentley are double kickflips and 360 shove-its. But my list would be Kickflip, heelflip, double heelflip, triple kickflip(off a ledge), varial flip, 360 flip, All variations of a shove-it(Switch,nollie..), crooked grind, smith, feeble, nosegrind, boardslides nose slides. The list goes on.

Rofl, this thread is just bait for compulsive liars.

I use to skate back in the day, I have a love-hate relationship with it. My whole style is based on fear pretty much :S.

When I was in my prime I could Double Heelflip, Kickflip, Indy (off flat), Nollie Popshuvit, Popshuvit, Nollie, Fakie Ollie (Ollie North?) - lots of fucking random tricks that never really came together. I went to a Jebediah and Lil Birdy concert and won a free Folklore deck once xD!

I miss skating.. but I have to be really down with my flip tricks to do it constantly, I get a huge surge of adrenaline from anxiety when I line up for a heel-flip - cause I have popsicled my balls more than 6 times :'(.

I use to so good at heelflips too.. I could pop them really big and catch them mid-air. Basically all I could do well was Heelflips (sometimes double) and ollies. I use to get close to landing a big spin, but it was kind of a gay version cause I didn't even pop: I just went in fakie and span the fuck out of the bored - I once did catch it in its third revolution but I landed on the nose and bailed.

I love my board at the moment though ;D ;D:

Folklore (Nice light and poppy)
Modus 5's
Appleyard III Thunder's
Folklore Wheels

I use to hang out with a large bunch of skaters.. but they preferred to just sit on the board and smoke weed --__--.

Oh yeah, and stop being pussy's - go skate street like everyone else, fuck.

It's hard for me to find time to skate anymore. And also, unfortunatly, I have lost interest.

But anyways. I skated roughly for about 6 years. For two(age 10 to 12) years, I just kinda rode around. I never actually tried anything. When I was 12, I met this guy down the street that had a mini ramp. It was about 5 feet tall, with an 8 foot extension, if I remember right. I messed around on that for 2 years(12 to 14 age). I never was too good at street. 4 stair at the most, just ollying. Varial flip, boardslide, kickflip, and heelflip were the extension of my 'street' tricks.

On the mini ramp, I had the basics down. 50-50, rock to fakie, rock and roll, smith, feeble, nose stall, crook stall, and a very wimpy little 180.

Moved when I was 14 and lost interest until 16, when I moved to a place with a park. Still maintained pretty much the same tricks. Learned to kickflip a bank xD. Skated from 16-18, and have recently lost interest.

I really don't care if I didn't have a big variety of tricks down though. This may sound cliche, but I did it for the fun of it.

Hmm.

I didn't read the other replies to this thread, I'm too lazy xD

I live in Eastern Canada where it is winter for 8 months of the year, and we're unfortunately left without an indoor park in my small town. It sucks, cause' I get some tricks over the summer then I lose them during the winter, and it's a cycle. This summer I skated every day, though, on the scattered ledges, gaps and stairsets we managed to find. We have an outdoor park which suck d!ck; it consists of a small funbox, a 4 set, a ledge here and there, two QP's and a flatbank.

I've only been skating 2 summers, regardless. The best thing I've done is either fackie big-spin flipping a VERY small gap, or varial flipping our 4 set.
I snapped my deck at the end of summer, I'm gonna' order one soon if our indoor park is finished by the end of winter :D

I find nollie 360 shoves easy in comparison to switch of regularly doing them. I don't have them down but I get them in games of skate occasionally. I can do them fackie easily, though. I also like doing big-spins (either way) they're an easy yet cool looking trick.

I wish I could skate, I haven't skated in nearly 4 months and pribably won't for another 4 :(
