Password FF10-2

In FF10-2 on the second level of the temple where Ixion used to be there is a bloke that says there is a password to do something wtf is it and what does it do im in chptr 5 if that helps?

If I'm not mistaken the password is MARNELA, but I can't remember for the life of me what it does and where you get it. All I remember is the password itself. Sorry.

The password is MARNELA and it gives you one of the 5 repair manuals for the Al Bhed weapon.
