final fantasy 12 is rated T for alcohol reference, fantasy violence, partial nudity, and suggestive themes.
I hate that! my parents will never let me buy it! they dont know how good a game it is. post your hatred toward ESRB here! Man i thought they went overboard saying that Kingdom Hearst 2 had use of alcohol ( for pirates of the caribbean). but nudity! i bet it is just because ashe has a really short skirt.
Oh, people will hate them for this one!
and its official. i got it off of the Square-Enix official website (www.square-enix.com)

TEEN!! WHAT THE FUCK-ON-A-STICK!!!!! PARTIAL NUDITY!!! So does that mean u have 2 be 13 or older to buy it? Although every FF so far has been rated 11+ in the UK because of fantasy violence and (extremly) mild swearage. But nudity? So is there gonna be sex in it? Sounds good, cuz I am 13 and my parents would probably buy it 4 me anyways, but I feel sorry 4 ya. If u have to be 15/16+ then I will be fuckin pissed off.

I'm pretty sure it is Ashe's short skirt or Fran's lack of clothing somewhere.
But I'm pretty sure their isn't any sex or lust in this game. Luckily I can get my own copy myself.

And why is the ESRB to blame? Because they gave it a rating that seemed fit for the title? A rating that most every other Final Fantasy has recieved since VII? Partial nudity, you say? Big fucking deal. I doubt your parents will give a rats ass, just as long as they know it's rated T and not M.
So, don't go blaming the ESRB for doing their job.
EDIT: Oh, and just so you know, partial nudity doesn't necessarily mean that there will be nude people walking around throughout the game. More then likely it means that characters are dressed in more skimpy clothing. The ESRB probably put partial nudity just to play it safe and not come under more pressure from congress about how they don't properly rate titles that go through them.

It says partial nudity, there's not going to be any naked people in it.
As far as I can remember, these themes have been prominent in previous FF titles. Alcohol references in FFVII (I can't quite cite where since I haven't played this game in years, but I'm certain that there's some references), there's fantasy violence in every FF game, mild language -- just look at Cid in FFVII and so on and so forth.
You really have nothing to worry about. It's as if there's going to be a hardcore sex scene or someone going on a booze-up and battering some dragons.

it would would be sweet if there were naked girls in the game... but my parents probly won't let me buy it.
actually, i wouldnt mind if there is sex in the game, but my parents would never let me play it.
No it wouldn't. There's not a single part of me that wants to see some naked video game girls. That's not why I play video games. It doesn't particularly bother me at all that it's got a T rating. That's probably not going to stop anyone from playing it.

I am sure the partial nudity is from Fran's butt not being covered. She seems to be missing a lot of little pieces of clothing from what I have seen but nothing as bad as what people are allowed to wear out on the beachin public. I don't really think this game deserves a T rating but we can hardly change that fact in a forum thread. I am sure if you just point out the small reasons to your parents they will still buy the games for you.

Hasn't every FF out(at least since 7) BEEN rated T? How is that going to affect you buying it? X-2 had much more skimpy clothing and it still recieved a T, Whoopdeedo. Partial Nudity? Note the key words, "Partial". And then see the ESRB rating for DOAXBV - Nudity for M. There's a difference.
Your parents aren't going to care if you're over 13.(Which I assume you aren't since this is what's bothering you)
A T rating is no big deal at all. E is for like racing games and strategy games and all the games made for little kids. The nature of Final Fantasy (combat, fantasy genre) just calls for a T rating.
Don't worry. Square isn't going to decide that in their 12th installment of their flagship series that they should add booze hounds and prostitutes. Like others said, the ESRB just needs to cover their ass so that the governments and Hilary Clintons of the world will lay off.

Meh. Any game that has fighting/violence in any way usually receives a T rating, doesn't it? At any rate, it doesn't affect me at all. The ESRB is just doing their job, as has already been stated.
