Bleh, I don't know which final fantasy I want to play, I need some help :) Heres what I have and what I have done.

FF1 Beat it, done all of the extra dungeons on the gameboy too, Liked it alot
FF2 Haven't started it but I have it

FF4 Beat it, absolutely loved it.
FF5 Have it on ps1 but havent started it and loading times take forever on ps :(
FF6 same as 5
FF7 At the part right before the north crater, I have KOTR.
FF8 Have it, haven't even started it.
FF9 Beat it, got all chocographs, beat ozma. Done about everything except get all 100 cards. Favorite FF
FF10 Beat it and the omega dungeon, liked the game but not as much as 9, on my 2nd game I am right before Bahamuts temple and have all the primers (Whole reason I started new game was to get all primers)

I haven't played any of them in awhile but I want to know what you guys think I should play.

You should probably finish off FF7 first, seeing as you're so close to the end of the game - then start on either FF6 or FF8 - my own personal bias says play FF8 first, and it means you can then move onto to the 'older' games like FF6.

oh yeah and another thing why I have been putting 8 off is I haven't heard good things about the junction system lol

The Junction System is ok...It's only hard if you're a stupid n00b. In actuality, it's an easy system to exploit, but instead of your standard leveling up, you'll probably be 'drawing spells' (a system of collecting spells via your enemies and 'draw points') especially since the monsters level up w/you...It's just got a lot of different little tweaks to it that take a little getting used to...But I think it's worth it...There are some good story points in FFVIII...If not the most solid cast...and the card game doesn't suck balls like FFIX's.

I suggest Emulating some of the older FFs if you're concerned about load times...or just wait for FFV Advance & FFVI Advance...

I REALLY suggest FFTactics...No FFFan is worth their weight in salt w/o including Tactics on their list! ^_^

Oh yeah I forgot to put tactics on the list oops. I have tactics but I am terrible at it, I always get stuck on a battle and then I try and train but I die in like every battle lol...

I'd say FF8. I loved the junction system. If you utilize it correctly your characters get uber powerful.

I would definitely say Final Fantasy 8, it's an injustice you've not even played it yet.

People complain about the junction system because it's more complicated than buying materia or slapping on a vest and learning fire. It's a great system that isn't appreciated as it should be.

other than that, I would suggest taking all the games you haven't beaten and completing them in numerical order.

I agree with SaberBlade. The Junction system isn't all that complex. Hell I could use it when I first played it when I was 10 so I don't see why people think it is. I really liked the story and found the characters interesting. Go with 8 :)

I'm with the person that said to finish FFVII. If you are up to the North Crater, you might as just finish it. Since you got KOTR, that won't be a problem.

If you don't mind emulating, I would say tackle FFVI/III. The game is shorter than the others and has its merits. Sure, may not be grahpically good looking, but it's a lot quicker to go through than the others at the moment. Even for your first playthrough, it still shouldn't take too much longer than 30 hours to do everything and I'm probably overestimating there. Plus every FF fan needs to know about Kefka.

I personally agree with V Translanka about Tactics if you can ever get used to the battle system. If you can, you'll find that the gameplay is great and costumization of what you can do with you characters is pretty big. The plot is nothing short of amazing; plenty of twist and turns you keep you interested.

If you don't want to do FFVI and can't get the hang of Tactics, I guess FFVIII would not be a bad one to play through next. There's a little secret behind the junction system; time and patience. As long as you are willing to take the time to draw the strongest/useful spells you can get at certain points of the game (esuna, aga spells, life, etc., some which you can get pretty early) you can go through the game without breaking a sweat. In fact, as long as you know how to take advantage of the Junction System, that whole "enemies level up with you" factor becomes a joke.

My only complaint about FFVIII though is while the story is decent, most of the characters in your party are pretty bland and become pretty pointless to the plot about half way through. The music in that game though is probably the best in the series though.

what about buying a new final fantasy after beated all of them (if you can) for example FFX-2, FFXII or FFXIII (when it comes out)

I'll say that you should complete the games your close to finishing and have already started. Then play FFVIII then VI, Tactics and then follow it up with the rest numerically. I say save the ones you already beat for last. And as for the game to buy after you finish all of them, if 12 is out when you finish them all, it most likely will be, then get that. And if it isn't, get FFX then X-2.

Hehe, I have FFX (I labeled it as FF10 up top) and the reason I haven't bought FFX-2 yet is because I haven't heard good things about it :|

I also suggest playing Final Fantasy VIII. It really is a great game that isn't appreciated as much as it should be. Just like Saberblade said the junction system isn't complicated and once you figure it out you can have real strong characters in the beggining of the game.

If you don't want to play Final Fantasy VIII then I guess you might as well finish Final Fantasy VII. Since you know your gonna do it one day or another anyway.

Well, there's only one in there you haven't started, and that's FFVIII. So I think you should at least start FFVIII and go through it as much as you can. And then, finish FFVII.

I'd say play FF9, my favorite FF game and I'm never getting tired of it, LOVE IT!

Definitely finish up FFVII, and then start up FFVIII. After that I would say play them in numerical order, but don't forget Tactics! The best game of the whole series.
