after all, they've had to come up with like, a million different outfits for all the games all together.......
i just can't get over how creative and AWESOME LOOKING they are!!!!!!!!!

Quina: Is Quina not one of the hottest things you have ever seen? Her sultry looks compliments her androgynous appearance perfectly.

Tifa: She's dressed like a slut, but I only wish that I had her boobs. I like how horny she looks; slutty, but in a classy way if that's possible.

Quistis: Come on! She's a total dominatrix with that outfit and that leather whip. Seriously, I think she looks amazing.

Tidus: A little boring, but he does look like a little boy -- which I find extremely cute.

How they come up with such cool outfits is simple, Nomura takes what the japanese kids are currently going mad about and uses them in his design, he's well known for using pop culture in his character designs. As for the pre-Nomura designs, your guess is as good as mine, although the FF12 characters seemed to have been designed to resemble Nomura's style (either by coincidence of on purpose) so it's probably the same for them.

I am a student trying to get my degrees and diplomers to work for squaresoft and do there designs and characters i am doing an A-level course on final fantsay and would like some peoples ideas of colours for FFX group!

Some of the outfits are amazing. Others I could just care less about. It wasn't until probably around FF7 (if my memory serves me right) that they had to work on creating new 'outfits' as they now had the technology for FMVs. The outfits that stand out to me the most are Opera Celes (Yes there are games before FF7 -_-), Lady Luck Yuna as well as Songstress Lenne. I currently own Lady Luck as well as Songstress as cosplay. Outfits that I just never cared for was Cloud (in both AC/FF7), Selphie and Yuffie(again FF7/AC). Those outfits were just bleh and not really interesting.

I didn't much care for Yuna's Summoner Outfit. The skirt part of the outfit was pretty and really intricate with the pattern on the side. The whole vest top type deal with it just threw me off. Throw that in with the ugly yellow bow deal just made it really..horrible if you ask me. It never really seemed to fit well at all and just kind of seemed thrown together.

Really? I always thought it's the other way round; the designers conjure the designs, and impressionable kids just copy it off. Of course, there's no reason to believe why both of us aren't correct, thus creating a self-feeding loop.

Costume design is easier than you'd think. And they really dropped the ball with FFX, anyway. Tidus looks like a goth and a skater got in a car crash, and what resulted had retarded trousers. Yuna just looks boring and uninspired, and trying to make her more interesting by having two different coloured eyes was weak. Wakka had a kind of "There's Something About Mary" hair thing going on, as well as being obnoxiously and viciously ginger. Lulu is just a carbon copy of a goth girl off the streets of Japan. Kimahri, well, he's just fucking blue.

Seriously the leather jacket with the ruff of feathers is perhaps the campest thing the man wears. If you wore such a thing in real life you'd be lynched by a hatemob. Almost all of the designs in FF are kinda odd they are either really retro or kinda campy, which as sabreblade pointed out is what the Japanese kids are into.

I think Sephiroths costume in Advent was cool, as well as Tidus' and clouds. All the customs rock. Nomura's style is cool, and his designs reflect the times I guess. But come on they are mint.

Yuna's Summoner outfit was a kimono... a traditional dress worn by women in Japan. But can someone explain where they got the idea for Yuna's 10-2 outfit? (Besides hanging around Rikku too much) Kinda slutty, but it fit her personality in the game pretty good. Cloud's outfit was SO COOL! Fit his personality as well.

I liked Clounds in AC.... i think it made him kinda hot! Also i liked Tifa's look in AC... i LOVED like all the outfits for Rikku and Yuna and Paine in FFX-2 and so far in XII i like Princess Ashe's, cept the way-too-short redskirt is way-too-short and makes her lok horish..... but yeah i like Vaan's tooo.... it makes him look young and cute:D lol and TIDUS IN FFX... HOTTIE!!!! WOO, just everything... cept his pants WERE kinda funny:p

I agree with you Cloud not only looks good but is dressed good too. Tifa the same.Her clothes before AC was a bit naked in my opinion (lets be honest : she was not wearing much at all). Generally the boys have more clothes on than the girls. I mean come on who can actually fight in the clothes Rikku, Yuna , Tifa and Princess Ashe is wearing. A kick would probably tear the skirt AND the panties off. Believe me i trained Taekwando before and i can asure you all that with their outfits you can kiss any chance off winning the game good bye.

Yeah... they are very impractical for fighting... although their outfits in FFX-2 changed with the dressphere, tho most were still impractical but hey its a video game...... and
