THERE WILL BE SPOILERS, OH THE SPOILERS THERE WILL BE
(Cowboy Bebop & Samurai Champloo)

So, maybe I'm just stupid or something, but I've kind of ruined (/kind of not) two of the biggest anime series out there for myself...

The first one, Cowboy Bebop, I knew I was ruining and, honestly, I didn't care...I was bored and my friend only had the last two or three DVDs of the series, although I thought there had to be more than just 6 or 7 or whatever number the last one was, so I thought I was probably just going to see the middle...Now, I actually don't mind that I watched Cowboy Bebop in this way...I mean, I got to see all of the big character archs and stuff and I watched the earlier DVDs later on (I think I missed one in the middle, ironically enough) and I was kind of pleased because I really like Ed and she doesn't show up until, like the 7th or 8th episode...

Plus, besides the ending, I don't see the series as being a big 'you must watch in order' kind of show because it's basically them going after bounties in each show w/little bits of information about each character sprinkled throughout. So, honestly, I don't feel like I ruined anything when it comes to Cowboy Bebop except perhaps the artist's original intentions of the flow of the story...but it can't be helped so wtf ever...

Now, the second series, Samurai Champloo wasn't entirely my fault...although I DID make the biggest most stupid mistake in the whole series of events...My brother had the series ripped in a case of CDs and after the 3rd disk, I went on to the next one in line, but it didn't have a number on it, but it was in the spot for the 4th disk so I figured it had to have been mismarked...then I made the stupid mistake of not checking which episodes I was watching while I watched them (they show the episode numbers after each episode's intro)...and I ended up watching the last disk...

You may be thinking, "how the hell could you have mistakenly done that?!? They find the freakin sunflower samurai in the last episode!" Well, I was kind of thinking that it was just a cool plot twist or something and that they were forcing themselves into going in some new direction after that...I had also watched a few AMVs over on YouTube and thought I had already spoiled it because someone had edited it so that I thought the two of them killed each other in the end...which, honestly, I think would have made just as cool an ending...but anyways, I still think it's a great series and I although I've ruined the flow again, I think I'm still okay w/the stupid mistake I made...

Ever done anything horrible like this w/an anime series (probably not, huh)?

I can't honestly say i've ever did anything like that with an anime series.

I tend to keep track of the episodes I watch, and depending on how I watch a series, I tend to do what I can to at least watch the first episode. Most episodes in a typical anime don't really require you to watch the episodes in a certain order, and Cowboy Bebop plus Samurai Champloo are like this.

Shows like Gundam or Evangelion, Naruto or even Bleach tend to follow one overall story from episode to episode, while other shows like Bebop and Champloo tend to be seperate, self contained episodes with no real connection to what happened before except for like having extra money or eating like pigs because in the previous episode they were starving. So if I am starting a show from anywhere but the start, I will try to stay away from anything that I know is late in the series, should it be using episode guides or just from the episode itself and it's relationship to the previous episode.

I would have been really annoyed at having Bebop from so late considering the general consensus is that Spike died, but with Champloo I wouldn't have been so annoyed really as the only real thing I expected to happen was Gene and Mugen to fight, but as the series progressed I couldn't see it happening at all.

Yeah, but if you watch the last part of Bebop and then watch the first, it's like everyone's getting back together again! ^_^
