Just completed final fantasy vi for the first time! taken me long enough to get round to it , when you complete one of the FF's does it make you a bit upset that you have finished it, or does it make you want to go straight back through it and get even more out of it?

With IV, V, and VI I felt a great sense of accomplishment. By the end of VII I was glad to have gotten through it and VIII, ugh, didn't finish that one.
IX brought me back into it though. It made me believe in Square again and X reaffirmed it.
After finishing an RPG I let it sit for a while before I pick it back up ( usually at least a year) and some I've never played again. VI is the only one I've played through so many times that I've honestly have lost count.
So to answer the questions--No I'm not upset and no I don't play it again right away.

FFIV I was like, "wtf? Why did it take me so long to do this?" Because all I needed was a tiny bit more leveling and stuff...I was basically right at the final boss's front door...

FFV I was like, "Wow, that was too easy" Because the Mime Class along w/the pimped out Bare Class made the final boss a breeze.

FFVI took some time since I did some leveling in the "dinosaur forest" hunting for gem boxes or w/e...I forget which uber-item was there...But the statues and Kefka were a pain unless you had a couple characters w/Ultima and/or Sabin & Gogo w/Bum Rush...

FFVII I was more just glad it was over...I didn't like the characters and the story seemed way too contrived for me...but whatever...I also didn't technically beat it by myself...I guess I need to go through it again...*le sigh*

FFVIII was pretty easy because of the Auras & Holy Wars...but I used a guide, so that's not saying much. I also didn't bother to hit up Omega Weapon because I was just too near the end not to finish the bastard...I thought the ending for VIII was byfar the most gratifying.

FFIX was ok, but all you had to do was block most of the status changes and, well, each character had a 9999 HP attack so it was pretty easy...Nice ending, much like the game.

FFTactics was great because you put so much effort into your characters that the game really becomes your baby. You don't PLAY Tactics, you LIVE Tactics. >_>

I won't bother going into any of the others...Mostly because the only other that I've beaten is FFIII...*shrugs*

FF6 left me a little disappointed at the end of the game, from what is otherwise the best in the series. Kefka is way too easy. I killed him in like 10 seconds and then was like ... :( ....:'(

I wasn't even that strong really. XD

PS I was stuck at the last boss in ff5 for so long. With super pimped out characters it's pretty easy but I mean, without a couple things it becomes so impossibly hard.

You don't have to "super pimp out" the characters...you just have to make sure each one masters a couple different classes (Galuf & Leena going the Magic-route and Bartz & Faris going Physical).

I'm gunna agree with you on this one except that you left out FFX!

FFX to me is probably the only FF that can run alongside FFVI only because of the gameplay/ graphics and storyline (I was nearly in tears with the ending) but FFVI is the best - hands down.

I only got to play about 20 minutes or so of FFX...And most of that was Blitzball (which I quickly began to like more than the game itself, honestly)...then I got to the damnedable butterfly sidequest and that was the end of my FFX experience...I hope to play the rest of it at some future time, but w/e...I've got plenty of GBA ROMs I've still got to finish...^_^ I've gotta replay Riviera sometime!

Hmm I reckon you should put the GBA away and get on that FFX..rihtaway! :P

I've completed Final Fantasy VI more than a dozen times. I have lost count, but I know it's more. It doesn't take me long to beat VI at all because I have been playing it since I was 13 (8 years ago). Once I got it on computer ROM you simply keep the 'tab' key pressed and it makes the game go about 5x faster. Levelling up to level 99 doesn't really take more than 20 minutes in the dinosaur forest.

I never cheat on FFVI though, I don't need to. I know the game inside out and I never miss anything. :)

Normally, when I complete any FF game, I feel like going back and starting it all over again straight away. Whenever I do this I soon get tired and abandon it for about a year.

I spend a minute feeling satisfied, then I am sad it's over and hit reset and start a new game =)

Yeah, I beat FFX & X-2 recently...the GBA RPGs were better.

I never finished FFVI. I got to the boss after Atma Weapon, and I just flung all my most powerful spells at it. Little did I know it had reflect, so I ended up killing all my team in one fell swoop. I was so devestated, I never really went back to it. That, and the fact that my PS1 memory card decided to die.

If they re-make it for the DS, then I'll play it religiously, until then, I've got other RPGs to obsess over.

It does neither to me, thesalonboy!

When I finish a Final Fantasy, I'm done with it, for at least three or four years!

Yeah, unfortunately replay value in most RPGs isn't very good...

i guess it depends how much of the game you explore the first time round

Um, yeah, I guess...But normally if you've already gone through the storyline, the replay value of finding the special items is shot. So, unless there are extra plot points, optional characters, or, dare I say it, multiple endings (I'm thinking more along the lines of the Chrono series rather than X-2 here), replay value is only as good as the rereading value of a book or the rewatching value of a movie...rereading value? rewatching value? There must be better words than these...w/e...

It's actually good because usually final fantasy games takes a lot of time, I get to play other game and they have good replay value.
