A-Rod still has a better career playoff OPS than Derek Jeter.

WRONG AGAIN.
Okay, how about football? Watch the last Pats game?! I really liked how elegantly Brady threw the ball two feet ahead of him into a pack of opponents. ![]() Yankees and Angels is a little scary, since they have a good record against us. But if we play as we've been, especially the last few games, I think we have it! m . e . t . r . o ![]() |

If your lefties keep hitting dinky pop-ups to right field that keep leaving the ballpark***
Literally all four teams I was rooting for in the DS got eliminated. In my pool, I had Yanks over Sox in the ALCS in 5, then the Cards over the Phils in the NLCS in 5 or 6. Then I had Yanks over Cards in either 4 or 5 in the WS. I was eliminated from that pool pretty immediately. ![]() T |

The Giants on the other hand... got raped by the first good team they played. Overrated, for sure. |

Well if you had responded on time you wouldn't have been able to say that!
And Giants losing doesn't really bother me all that much. I'd rather see them win over most teams, but I quite like the Saints, so I was glad to see them triumph. I actually liked the Saints before I began to support the Giants (which I will openly admit was 2008, especially the 18-1 rapefest, to use your term). And Steelers won last week, so all is well for me. Excited for Steelers - 'kings! Yanks lost it at the last minute, but you can't say they didn't play hard. It was really Chamberlain who fucked it all up. :/ Pretty awesome though that every run was a single homer. m . e . t . r . o ![]() |

I want to see the World Series be Phillies/Yankees.. with the Yanks dominating the first three games and then blowing the last four. Maybe then Lina, you will feel the pain that I did during the '07 Superbowl! |

EDIT: A-Rod just went deep again. He's not quite at Bonds' 2002 level of crazy hot for a postseason, but he's level with Beltran from 2004. Quote:

The '04 team was pretty good. I'd say it's a valid comparison; they blew a 3-0 lead to their bitter rivals, it was possibly the biggest flop/comeback in baseball postseason history. The Patriots/Giants don't really have a rivalry, so while that defeat came in the Super Bowl, there's no added sting of a century-long rivalry.

People can say whatever the hell they want about A-Rod, but he's going to continue being a great baseball player. This is his first World Series!
Mark Teixeira is an amazing first baseman. I am always further impressed by him. And Nick Swisher has done a fabulous job holding down his portion of the outfield. Last night, Johnny Damon stole 2nd! AND THEN 3rd! He really stuck it in the BoSox's asses tonight too; before the game he said this was the most important time of his career, even though he ALREADY WON THE WORLD SERIES with Boston.
